Meet the Farmers

Orlando Trochez and his son have coffee running through their veins. Their family have worked in the coffee industry for generations, and its for love rather than obligation that keeps in them in the business. 

Orlando showed us every step that it takes to get coffee beans ready to roast. He loves to discover new varieties and flavours, experimenting with different ways of growing and processing the cherries. Its for this reason that their coffee has become award winning for flavour by the Colombian Coffee Federation. 

What we also loved was their care for the environment and their community. They use ecological practices where possible and take extra measures to protect the nature reserve by their land. In doing this, Orlando can help ensure a future in coffee for children and grandchildren, and he plays his part to preserve a culture that trademarks Colombia. 

If you happen to pass by his farm, we're certain that Orlando would invite you into his home, take you for lunch, introduce you to his family and colleagues, and treat you like a long lost friend. While that won't be possible for most, he would to share this coffee with you and hope that it can replicate the vibrancy of Colombia through your taste buds.
